Hooked rug with scenes of Saint-Antoine de Tilly
MARIE LOUISE BIBEAU 1789-1851
It would be six years after the death of his first wife before Pierre remarried. He and the widow Daigle married in Saint-Antoine on the 10th of February 1839. Née, Marie-Laurette Bibeau, daughter of Jean-Baptiste Bibeau et Marie-Louise Houde, she went by the name of Louise.
Louise had been married to François-Xavier Daigle until his death at age seventy-one, two years prior to her marriage to Pierre. both she and Pierre were fifty-nine when they married. One wonders if it was just loneliness or economics, or both that caused the two to unite. It was a certainty in their time, they would have had to marry if they wanted to co-habit without the scorn of the community. Perhaps they were lifelong friends or neighbours.
Louise died on the 2nd of April 1851, living to be seventy-one. Pierre outlived her by six years.
