MARIE-FRANÇOISE BERGERON
(1748-1795)

           ​​Françoise, daughter of Jean-Baptiste (1702-1769) and Marie-Anne Choret (1721-1760) m. 1743, was born in Saint-Antoine de Tilly on the 10th of January 1748. She was the eighth in a family of five siblings and seven half-siblings. Her father’s first marriage to Charlotte Houde (1702-1742) m. 1724, produced six children, one of which Marie-Josephe Bergeron married Jacques Côté, the son of Jacques and Marie-Madeleine Rondeau, a great-half uncle. There is confusion like this often in the Côté family. After her mother's death, her father remarried Catherine-Louise Croteau (1717-) m. 1761, who bore him one child and finally Marguerite Nogues (1731) m. 1765, four years before his death in 1769. 

         ​​Françoise married Jean-Charles on the 22 of April 1771, in the village of Saint-Antoine and three years later they had their first child. They had four more over the next fourteen years.

           ​​Her death was on February 23, 1795, at age forty-seven. My notes prove a set of twins, one who died shortly after his birth.
