JOSEPH AUGER 1779-1834
oseph Auger was one of ten children born to Antoine and Marguerite (Beaudet). He was born in Lotbinière on the 3rd of December 1779. One of five boys, he would be the one to produce the most offspring and the most boys to carry on the Auger line. Joseph followed in the footsteps of his father, Antoine and his calling to the land made him choose farming as his vocation.
Joseph married Rosalie Roireau dit Laliberté, 13th of January 1807 in Lotbinière, and following the wedding the couple produced thirteen children, five of them boys. Marguerite, Julie, Jean-Baptiste, Joseph, Marceline, Sophie, Antoine, Rosalie, M-Emélie, Cléophas, Adelaïde, Louis-Damasse and M-Pètronille.
Like most farmers, their life is a stationary one and Joseph remained in Lotbinière all his life. He died the 28th of March 1834, in Lotbinière at the young age of fifty-four.
