ÉLISE LEMAY 1862-1936

Elise baptised 13 avril 1862,(1) in Ste-Croix, Lotbinière was the daughter of Ambroise Lemay and Marie Gosselin. She had at least one younger sister, M-Rose who married and remained in Saint-Croix.

After her marriage to Joseph November 16, 1885,(2) the couple settled in Saint-Edouard. As was the case for most couples a child arrived within a year. In this couples case it was exactly one year to the day.

Joseph and Élise had a total of eleven children, mostly boys to carry on the Auger name. However, of the seven boys only four produced offspring. This is where my husband's connection to the Auger family ends. His grandmother was Marie Auger who married Pierre Côté.

Élise died in Saint-Édouard March 6th 1936,(3) in her seventy-third year. She outlived Joseph by seven years.
